About us

Everything the movement produces is open source and free: the Responsible AI Launch Kit, the workshop material, and the recordings of the speaker series.

How we started

We started with a simple question: how can AI ethics become more practical?

The Responsible AI Movement started with a small group of people who wanted to look beyond principles and talk about what responsible AI actually means in practice.

On 6 May 2026, we began meeting every week to research real-world risks, look at scientific evidence and discuss what teams can actually do about them. This work became the foundation of the Responsible AI Launch Kit.

As the work grew, so did the community. We opened the conversation to people from different backgrounds and disciplines, and our Discord became a space where practitioners, researchers, designers, developers, ethicists and others could share perspectives and challenge each other's thinking.

What we believe

Responsible AI needs different perspectives.

No single discipline has the whole picture. We bring together people from academia, industry and different areas of practice to understand problems from multiple angles.

AI ethics needs to be practical.

Principles matter, but they need to help people make better decisions in the real world. We want to turn research and discussion into things teams can actually use.

Knowledge should be shared.

Our research, tools and workshops are open source and free to use. We believe responsible AI becomes stronger when people can build on each other's work.

What we're building

A community where people can ask difficult questions, share what they learn, and work together to make Responsible AI more practical.

The movement is community-built, open, and still evolving.

Want to get involved?

We are always looking for people to expand the Responsible AI Launch Kit, adding real examples, research and recommendations for each risk, and for practitioners willing to bring a case to the speaker series.
